Mr. Hui Zhang (Roy) is the Director of UTC Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility, Asia, responsible for developing themulti-year sustainability and CSR strategy in supply chain management, community affairs, internal and external stakeholder engagement, CSR reporting, corporate fund management and strategic employee volunteer management.
Before joining UTC, Roy served as the Senior Manager of Global Citizenship & Policy for Abbott Laboratories China. There, he has developed a local five-year corporate citizenship plan, succeeded at cross-function integration of CSR programs, and built a successful corporate citizenship communications strategy. Prior to Abbott, Roy was an Internal Communications and CSR Manager at SAP Labs China, with over 12 year experience in the area of corporate communication, CSR, sustainability, government and community relations.
Mr. Zhang graduated from Tianjin Foreign Studies University with Bachelor degree in English Language and Cultures in 1996. In 2010, he became the Accredited Business Communicator of IABC.As the selected CSR practitioner, he attended 2011 overseas CSR study visit with full sponsorship by Swedish Institute Management Program. He was also certified on GRI G3 and G4 Sustainability Reporting Process by Global Reporting Initiatives.
In addition to his corporate assignment, Mr. Zhang also served as the voluntary CSR advisor for UNDP China Social Management Program, communication advisor for ILO CBMM China Programme, the Asian coordinator for 2011 Gold Quill Awards of International Association of Business Communicators, and member of Expert Committee of China CSR Education Awards initiated by Chinese Youth League. In December 2013, Mr. Zhang was nominated and elected as their CSR Forum Chair by European Union Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. In February 2015, he was invited to attend European Commission Multi-stakeholder Forum on CSR (Brussels, Belgium)as the session speaker on behalf European Chamber of Commerce China.
