The European Union Chamber of Commerce has been a strong advocate of CSR in the past years. After the successful 3rd European Chamber CSR Award in 2016, which gathered prominent leaders and CSR practitioners from all over China, with a strong interest to learn and exchange experience to advance CSR in China, we are proud to announce the launch of our 4th-year events. The Award aims to acknowledge CSR successes, raise sustainability awareness, and share the CSR experiences with organizations looking to embrace corporate responsibility in China.

This year there will be four categories and six awards given to MNCs, SMEs and NGOs who have shown excellence in impact innovation, with a special award recognizing distinguished effort in cultural preservation and exchange.

The submission is OPEN now. Corporations, SMEs, business associations, NGOs, charities, schools and development zones are eligible and encouraged to apply. The deadline for submissions is October 30th 2017.

Additionally, to increase participation and spread awareness, we are launching CSR Essay and Art competitions. All students studying in China are invited to submit their essays on the case “Biodiversity Preservation in Chinese Rivers”. They are also encouraged to participate in a dedicated art competition to drive engagement to foster early sense of responsibility.


SMEs Award
Excellence in Responsible Innovation – award to SMEs that has shown excellence innovative projects to tackle with challenges in doing business in China.

NGOs/Social Enterprise Award
Excellence in Social Innovation Partnership – award to NGOs/social enterprises that has shown excellence in developing innovative partnership and sustainable projects.

MNCs Award

Excellence in Employee Development – award to companies that has shown excellence in promoting and enhancing CSR mindset and skills among employees.

Excellence in Responsible Value Chain – award to companies that has shown excellence in integrating sustainability into specific aspects/whole value chain and creating shared business and social impact.

Excellence in Sustainable Growth & Environment Protection – award to companies that has shown excellence in investing long-term environment and financial sustainability.

Special Award

Excellence in Cultural Exchange – award to organizations that have shown excellence in fostering cultural exchange between civilizations.

All the entries will be assessed in a two-stage process by a jury representing a wide-variety of businesses, social organizations, and government representatives.

  • Awards Ceremony: 7th December 2017

  3. Applications must be submitted in either word or PDF format. PDF Documents and nomination/applications over the word limits indicated in the form will NOT be reviewed.

Student Competition

It aims to raise awareness of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), especially in young people, and is open to high school, college and university students studying in China.

The case “Biodiversity Preservation in Chinese Rivers near Industrial Areas” will enable students to be initiated to the field of CSR as well as show their analytical, creative and problem solving skills. The competition is freely opened to all students in China, regardless of their location.

Students are also welcomed to participate in an art competition of painting on the theme of “Biodiversity Preservation in Chinese Rivers near Industrial Areas”, which will enable students’ imagination and build their early environmental awareness.

Prizes will be given to students in two categories:

  • Water Protection Innovation awards
  • Art awards (Paintings)


The European Chamber is looking to partner with a limited number of companies for sponsorship for the organization of these awards.

3rd Green and Clean Forum / Nanjing December 7th, 2017

The forum aims to invite experts from corporations, government, academia and communities to discuss about water preservation and clean water solutions.

The 3rd Green and Clean Forum will focus on water preservation and the environmental impact of our businesses. in this ecosystem. It aims at showcasing possible solutions to preserve our water as well as demonstrating innovative business models.
